ABOUT LOCALHASH
A checksum needs a clear comparison
LocalHash calculates file and text digests on your device and compares them with an expected value. It is designed for checking a completed download or reproducing a byte-level example without uploading the input.
What this tool can establish
A matching digest connects the selected bytes to a reference. The tool does not know whether that reference is authentic, and it does not inspect a file for malware. Obtain release checksums from the software publisher. Never treat a match as permission to run an unknown program.
File mode reads the selected file in chunks. Text mode encodes the field as UTF-8, so line endings and invisible characters matter. The guides include exact sample values that you can reproduce in the calculator or in an independent tool.
How to check an unexpected result
- Use the same algorithm on both sides; SHA-256 and SHA3-256 are different.
- Confirm the filename, version, and whether the reference describes an archive or an extracted file.
- Try the three-byte sample to separate input differences from a calculation problem.
Contact the site operator
For a calculation bug, an inaccurate guide, accessibility feedback, or a privacy request, email himself@mustafamemiseser.com. Include the page URL, algorithm, browser version, and steps that reproduce the issue. Use a small public sample when possible; do not send passwords, private files, or sensitive text.
Sending email is optional and separate from local hashing. The email service handles the message and any attachment you choose to send. We cannot recover a file or calculation from a closed browser tab.
